Surf & Turf: Grilled Steak and Shrimp with Asparagus

 

Ingredients:

For the Steak:

2 ribeye or sirloin steaks
2 tbsp olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 sprigs fresh thyme
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
For the Shrimp:

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
Juice of 1 lemon
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Asparagus:

1 bunch asparagus, trimmed
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:

Marinate the Shrimp:

Toss shrimp with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
Prepare the Asparagus:

Toss asparagus with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
Cook the Steak:

Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
Rub steaks with olive oil, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper.
Grill for 4-5 minutes per side or until cooked to your desired doneness. Let rest for 5 minutes.
Cook the Shrimp and Asparagus:

Grill shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
Grill asparagus for 3-5 minutes, turning occasionally, until tender.
Assemble and Serve:

Plate the steak alongside shrimp and asparagus.
Garnish with fresh thyme or parsley and a squeeze of lemon juice.
