Smoked Honey-Glazed Grilled Pears with Blue Cheese and Walnut Crumble

Ingredients (Serves 4)
For the Grilled Pears:
4 ripe but firm pears, halved and cored 🍐
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons honey (preferably smoked honey, or regular honey with a dash of smoked paprika)
For the Toppings:
1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese 🧀
1/4 cup toasted walnuts, roughly chopped
1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves 🌿
For Garnish:
A drizzle of balsamic glaze (optional)
Fresh thyme sprigs
Instructions
Prepare the Pears:
Cut the pears in half and remove the cores. Brush the cut sides with olive oil and set aside.
Prepare the Smoked Honey Glaze:
In a small bowl, mix honey with a pinch of smoked paprika (if using regular honey) for a smoky flavor.
Preheat the Grill:
Heat the grill to medium-high and lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking.
Grill the Pears:
Place the pears cut-side down on the grill. Cook for 3–4 minutes, until caramelized and grill marks form. Flip and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes on the other side.
Glaze and Top the Pears:
While the pears are still warm, drizzle with the smoked honey glaze. Sprinkle with crumbled blue cheese, toasted walnuts, and fresh thyme leaves.
Serve Immediately:
Transfer the pears to a serving platter. For extra elegance, drizzle with balsamic glaze and garnish with fresh thyme sprigs.
Tips for the Best Grilled Pears
Use pears that are firm but ripe for the perfect balance of sweetness and structure.
For a nut-free option, substitute walnuts with toasted sunflower seeds or omit entirely.
Adjust the amount of blue cheese to suit your taste.
