Slow Cooker Cheesy Mozzarella Chicken

Ingredients
🍗 For the Chicken:

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 teaspoon garlic powder 🧄
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning 🌿
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt 🧂
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
🍅 For the Sauce:

2 cups marinara sauce (homemade or store-bought) 🍅
1/2 cup chicken broth or water
1 teaspoon sugar (optional, to balance acidity)
1 teaspoon dried basil or parsley 🌿
🧀 For the Cheese Topping:

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese 🧀
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
1️⃣ Prepare the Chicken:
Season the chicken breasts on both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.

2️⃣ Layer in the Slow Cooker:
Pour half of the marinara sauce into the bottom of the slow cooker. Place the seasoned chicken breasts on top, then cover with the remaining marinara sauce and chicken broth. Sprinkle dried basil or parsley over the top.

3️⃣ Cook:
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6–7 hours or on high for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked (165°F internal temperature).

4️⃣ Add the Cheese:
During the last 20 minutes of cooking, sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the chicken. Cover and let the cheese melt into a gooey, cheesy layer.

5️⃣ Serve:
Carefully remove the chicken breasts from the slow cooker. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil or parsley if desired. Pair with pasta, rice, or crusty bread for a complete meal.

Tips for Success:

Use freshly shredded mozzarella for the best melt and texture.
If you like extra flavor, sear the chicken breasts in a skillet before adding them to the slow cooker.
Add sliced mushrooms or bell peppers to the sauce for additional veggies.
