Mom’s Irresistible Cream Puffs

Ingredients:
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 1 cup water
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter
– 4 large eggs
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 1/4 cup powdered sugar
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius).
2. In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
3. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball that pulls away from the sides of the pan.
4. Let the dough cool for about 5 minutes.
5. Beat in eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
6. Transfer the dough to a piping bag and pipe mounds of dough (about the size of a golf ball) onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the puffs are golden brown and sound hollow when tapped.
8. Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack.
9. Meanwhile, in a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
10. Once the puffs are completely cool, slice them in half and fill with the whipped cream.
11. Dust with additional powdered sugar, if desired, and serve!
