Garlic Rice

Ingredients
2 cups cooked jasmine rice (day-old rice works best)
2 tablespoons unsalted butter or olive oil
6 cloves garlic, finely minced
2 teaspoons soy sauce
½ teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
2 green onions, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Prepare the Garlic:
Heat the butter or olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant and golden, being careful not to burn it.
Add the Rice:
Add the cooked rice to the skillet, breaking up any clumps with a wooden spoon or spatula. Stir to coat the rice evenly with the garlic and oil.
Season the Rice:
Stir in the soy sauce and sesame oil (if using). Mix well and cook for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice is heated through and slightly crisp in spots.
Adjust Seasoning:
Taste and add salt and freshly ground black pepper as needed.
Garnish and Serve:
Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions if desired. Serve hot as a side dish or a simple main course.
