Garlic Butter Sausages and Broccoli Recipe

Ingredients:
Broccoli florets, blanched (about 3 minutes)
4 sausages (Italian, bratwurst, or smoked)
3 tablespoons butter, divided
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 teaspoon crushed red chili pepper flakes
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 cup vegetable or beef stock (or water)
Hot sauce (optional)
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions:
Blanch Broccoli: Quickly blanch broccoli florets in boiling water for 3 minutes. Drain and place in an ice bath to stop cooking. Drain again and set aside.
Cook Sausages: In a skillet, add sausages and 1/2 cup water. Cook covered over medium heat for 10 minutes, turning occasionally. Once the water evaporates, add 2 tablespoons butter, half the minced garlic, and chili flakes. Cook until sausages brown, then remove and set aside.
Prepare Broccoli: In the same skillet, melt the remaining tablespoon of butter over low heat. Add parsley, thyme, remaining garlic, Italian seasoning, chili flakes, and the blanched broccoli. Cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring.
Deglaze and Finish: Deglaze the skillet with lemon juice, stock, and hot sauce (if desired). Reduce the sauce for a couple of minutes.
Combine: Add sausages back to the skillet and reheat. Spoon sauce over the sausages and broccoli. Adjust seasoning, garnish with more chili flakes, fresh herbs, and a lemon slice.
