Indulge in the luxurious flavors of tender lobster tails and perfectly seared scallops coated in a rich garlic butter sauce. This dish is perfect for special occasions or an elegant dinner at home.
Ingredients
For the Lobster Tails:
2 lobster tails, split lengthwise 🦞
2 tbsp butter, melted 🧈
1 garlic clove, minced 🧄
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Scallops:
1/2 lb sea scallops, patted dry 🦪
1 tbsp olive oil 🫒
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Garlic Butter Sauce:
4 tbsp unsalted butter 🧈
2 cloves garlic, minced 🧄
1 tbsp lemon juice 🍋
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish) 🌿
Instructions
1. Prepare the Lobster Tails:
Preheat the oven broiler.
Using kitchen shears, cut along the top of each lobster shell to expose the meat. Gently lift the lobster meat out, leaving it attached at the base, and rest it on top of the shell for presentation.
In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Brush the lobster meat generously with the butter mixture.
2. Broil the Lobster Tails:
Place the lobster tails on a baking sheet and broil for 6-8 minutes, or until the meat is opaque and slightly golden on top.
3. Sear the Scallops:
Season the scallops with salt and pepper.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the scallops and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until they are golden brown and slightly firm. Remove and set aside.
4. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:
In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Stir in lemon juice and red pepper flakes, if using. Allow the sauce to simmer for 1-2 minutes.
5. Combine and Serve:
Plate the broiled lobster tails and seared scallops.
Drizzle the garlic butter sauce over the seafood and garnish with fresh parsley.
Serve with lemon wedges for an extra burst of flavor.
Tips:
Pair this dish with a side of garlic mashed potatoes, roasted asparagus, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
Ensure the scallops are completely dry before searing to achieve a perfect golden crust.
