Festive Soft Christmas Cookies Delight

 

Ingredients:
– 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 teaspoon baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
– 1 cup butter, softened
– 1 cup sugar
– 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
– 1 large egg
– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 cup festive sprinkles
– 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).

2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well and set aside.

3. In another large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until creamy.

4. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.

5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Don’t overmix!

6. Gently fold in the sprinkles and chocolate chips if using.

7. Scoop tablespoons of cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie for spreading.

8. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look slightly underbaked; that’s perfect for a soft cookie!

9. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
