A flavorful and hearty feast combining tender steak and juicy shrimp, seasoned with bold Cajun spices and served with delicious sides. Perfect for a special dinner or when you’re craving something extra satisfying!
INGREDIENTS:
For the Cajun Shrimp:
1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)
For the Steak:
2 ribeye steaks (or your preferred cut)
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tbsp butter (for basting)
1 sprig fresh rosemary (optional for extra flavor)
For the Sides (Optional):
Crispy potato wedges or mashed potatoes
Garlic butter corn on the cob
Grilled vegetables (like asparagus, bell peppers, or zucchini)
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Prepare the Cajun Shrimp:
In a medium bowl, combine olive oil, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.
Add the shrimp to the bowl and toss to coat them evenly with the spice mixture.
Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and cooked through. Drizzle with lemon juice and garnish with chopped parsley. Set aside.
2. Prepare the Steak:
Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
Rub both sides of the steaks with olive oil, and season generously with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
Place the steaks on the hot grill or skillet. For medium-rare, cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or longer for your desired doneness.
During the last minute of cooking, add a tablespoon of butter to the skillet and baste the steaks with the melted butter. If desired, add a sprig of rosemary for extra flavor.
Remove the steaks from the heat and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
3. Assemble the Feast:
Plate the steaks and top with the Cajun shrimp.
Serve with your choice of sides like crispy potato wedges, garlic butter corn on the cob, or grilled vegetables.
TIPS:
Steak Doneness: Adjust cooking times for the steaks based on your preferred level of doneness. Use a meat thermometer for more precise results: 130°F for medium-rare, 140°F for medium, and 160°F for well done.
Shrimp: Don’t overcook the shrimp—when they turn pink and opaque, they are done.
Side Options: Pair the meal with buttery corn or a fresh salad to balance the rich flavors of the shrimp and steak.
This Cajun Shrimp and Steak Feast brings together the perfect balance of bold, spicy shrimp and juicy steak for an unforgettable meal. Ideal for impressing guests or treating yourself to a special dinner! 🌶️🍤🥩
