Authentic Swedish Meatballs with Creamy Gravy

Ingredients:
– Ground beef
– Onion, finely chopped
– Breadcrumbs
– Heavy cream
– Egg
– Beef broth
– All-purpose flour
– Nutmeg
– Salt
– Pepper
– Butter
– White vinegar
– Worcestershire sauce
– Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
2. Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
3. In a skillet, heat butter over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, browning on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
4. In the same skillet, add flour and stir to create a roux, cooking for about 1 minute until golden.
5. Gradually whisk in the beef broth and heavy cream, ensuring there are no lumps. Bring to a simmer and allow the gravy to thicken.
6. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and a splash of white vinegar. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
7. Return the meatballs to the skillet, coating them in the creamy gravy. Let them simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
