Old-Fashioned Pancakes

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 🌾
3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 1/4 cups whole milk 🥛
1 large egg 🥚
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted 🧈
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Directions
Prepare the Batter:
Mix the Dry Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

Add the Wet Ingredients:
Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients. Pour in the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract (if using). Gently whisk until the batter is smooth and free of lumps. Avoid overmixing.

Cook the Pancakes:
Heat the Griddle:
Heat a lightly oiled griddle or non-stick skillet over medium heat.

Pour the Batter:
Scoop about 1/4 cup of batter onto the griddle for each pancake. Spread lightly if needed.

Cook Until Bubbly:
Cook for 2–3 minutes, or until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set. Flip and cook for another 1–2 minutes, or until golden brown.

Repeat:
Continue cooking in batches, greasing the griddle as needed.

Serve and Enjoy:
Serve warm with butter, maple syrup, fresh fruit, or any toppings you love!

Tips for Success:
For fluffier pancakes, let the batter rest for 5 minutes before cooking.
Keep cooked pancakes warm in a low oven (200°F/93°C) until ready to serve.
Add blueberries, chocolate chips, or bananas directly to the batter for variety.
