Sweet and Spicy Spare Ribs with Green Beans

 

Ingredients:
– 1.5 pounds spare ribs
– 1 pound fresh green beans
– 1/2 cup honey
– 1/4 cup soy sauce
– 2 tablespoons chili powder
– 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
– 1 tablespoon garlic powder
– 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
– Optional: sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit (150 degrees Celsius).

2. In a bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, chili powder, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and grated ginger to create a sweet and spicy marinade.

3. Rub the spare ribs with salt and pepper, then place them in a baking dish. Pour half of the marinade over the ribs, ensuring they are well-coated. Reserve the other half for basting later.

4. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake the ribs in the preheated oven for about 2.5 hours, or until they are tender.

5. While the ribs are baking, prepare the green beans. In a skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the fresh green beans and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp. Season lightly with salt and pepper.

6. Once the ribs are done baking, remove them from the oven and turn the oven broiler on high.

7. Brush the remaining marinade onto the ribs and place them under the broiler for 4-5 minutes until they caramelize and turn slightly crispy. Keep a close eye to avoid burning.

8. Serve the sweet and spicy spare ribs hot alongside the sautéed green beans. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top if desired for an extra crunch.
