Pan-Fried Pork Chops

Ingredients

🥩 4 bone-in pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
🧂 1 teaspoon salt
🌶️ ½ teaspoon black pepper
🧄 1 teaspoon garlic powder
🌿 ½ teaspoon dried thyme or rosemary
🥄 2 tablespoons olive oil
🧈 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
🍋 Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions
1. Season the Pork Chops
Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels.
In a small bowl, mix salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and thyme.
Rub the seasoning mixture evenly over both sides of the pork chops.
2. Heat the Pan
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
3. Cook the Pork Chops
Place the pork chops in the skillet and cook for 4–5 minutes on one side, until golden brown.
Flip the chops and add the butter to the skillet.
Spoon the melted butter over the pork chops as they cook for another 4–5 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
4. Rest and Serve
Remove the pork chops from the skillet and let them rest for 3–5 minutes.
Serve hot with lemon wedges and your favorite side dishes.
Tips for Success
Avoid Overcrowding: Cook the pork chops in batches if your skillet isn’t large enough to fit all at once.
Check Doneness: Use a meat thermometer to ensure the pork chops are perfectly cooked without drying out.
Flavor Boost: Add a sprig of fresh rosemary or thyme to the butter while basting for extra aroma.
Serving Suggestions
Pair with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a crisp green salad for a complete meal.
