Irresistible Black Forest Delight

Ingredients:
– Heavy cream
– Sugar
– Kirsch (cherry schnapps)
– Dark chocolate
– Cherries (fresh or canned)
– All-purpose flour
– Eggs
– Baking powder
– Cocoa powder
– Vanilla extract
– Milk

Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your cake pans.

2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Set aside.

3. In a separate large bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the vanilla extract followed by the milk, mixing until combined.

4. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until just combined, then pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.

5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let it cool completely in the pans before removing.

6. While the cake cools, whisk the heavy cream with sugar until soft peaks form. Add a splash of Kirsch for a delicious touch.

7. Once the cakes are cool, slice them in half horizontally to create four layers.

8. On the first layer, spread a layer of whipped cream and add cherries. Place the next layer on top and repeat the process, continuing until all layers are stacked.

9. Use any remaining whipped cream to frost the top and sides of the cake. Decorate with dark chocolate shavings and additional cherries for that classic Black Forest look.

10. Chill for at least one hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
