Red Velvet Oreo Cake Roll Delight

 

Ingredients:
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 3 large eggs
– 1 cup granulated sugar
– 1/2 cup buttermilk
– 1/4 cup vegetable oil
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
– 1 tablespoon red food coloring
– 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies
– 1 cup cream cheese frosting (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 15×10 inch jelly roll pan by lining it with parchment paper.

2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

3. In another bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes.

4. Add the buttermilk, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and red food coloring to the egg mixture. Mix well until fully combined.

5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Be gentle to keep the mixture light and airy.

6. Pour the batter into the prepared jelly roll pan, spreading it evenly.

7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

8. While the cake is baking, prepare a clean kitchen towel by sprinkling it with powdered sugar.

9. Once the cake is done baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes. Then, carefully flip it over onto the prepared towel.

10. Gently peel away the parchment paper and roll the cake tightly with the towel, starting from one short end. Allow it to cool completely in this rolled form.

11. Once cooled, unroll the cake and spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the top. Sprinkle crushed Oreos on top of the frosting.

12. Roll the cake back up without the towel and place it seam-side down on a serving platter. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

13. Slice, serve, and enjoy the delightful combination of red velvet and Oreo!
